The C family

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Photography

So, yesterday was a little nutty.

I woke to discover some ants milling around the maple syrup bottle I had meant to rinse out the night before. It was raining. Emma and I had to drive Piper to the vet’s. (See yesterday’s post.) She barfed inside the car. And then pooped outside the car. And I had no choice but to put the poop baggie and barfy paper towels in our very hot trunk. And my hair was frizzing up. And I was frazzling up. And then I had to rush Emma to school. And I had a phone meeting.  Followed by an in-person meeting: four straight hours of talking about social media to some local marketing peeps. And Piper’s sad little face haunted me all day long.

I went to bed last night – on the couch, with a dog in a cone – and thought a LOT about how busy I was yesterday and how important it is to pause and enjoy the scenery. So. Even though there are unanswered emails and Things That Need to be Done Right Now i.e. INVOICING, which I can’t find the motivation to tackle, and laundry, which I am equally excited about. And I need to finish working on my business cards. And what are we having for dinner? Gah. Should I even bother showering?

So this morning I am taking it down a notch. Just for a bit.

I haven’t been writing much about it, but I am still doing the family photography thing. And still enjoying it just as much as when I started. (And wanting a new camera as I am pushing mine to the limit. But that’s a whole different post.)

I met up with the C family at Mooney’s Bay Beach on one bright morning a couple of weeks ago. They were an absolute delight to work with. It was relaxing and fun. And just looking at these photos makes me feel happy and relaxed once again.

Great job Andrea, both on the pix and on remembering when to step away and *breathe*. :)

Thanks Dani!

meanie: Omg is right! It’s funny that they are your neighbours. I just spoke to E.C. actually. She came over to pick up her photos. That family is totally adorable. I hope I can photograph them again some time.
