Monday Show and Tell: Sarah creates her own board game

Posted by andrea tomkins in: - Mondays are for Show and Tell|Easy ways to make kids happy

Monday is laundry day at our house. The washer and dryer are located in the basement. I’ve discovered that if I take the stairs two at a time with a laundry basket I get a better workout than if I had my own stairmaster.

While I was puttering Sarah was once again, busy with a project of her own making. This time she made a board game.

Sarah: board game designer

It might be hard to make out in this photo, but here’s her game.

Sarah: board game designer

Sarah says: My game is called “Game Guy.” I’m really proud of how I drew the cat and how I did the dice, because I couldn’t find an arrow. The player spins “the dice” and the number facing the palyer is the number of spaces they can move. If you get a line, it means you can spin again.

Mum says: We played it once already. Sarah won.

p.s. Would you like to participate in the Monday Show and Tell? Here are the guidelines. And here are the past entries.

The Obligatory Blurb

My name is Andrea and I live in the Westboro area of Ottawa with my husband Mark and our dog Piper who is kind of a big deal on Instagram. We also have two human offspring: Emma (24) and Sarah (22). During the day I work as a writer at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. I am a longtime Ottawa blogger and I've occupied this little corner of the WWW since 1999. The Fishbowl is my whiteboard, water cooler, and journal, all rolled into one. I'm passionate about healthy living, arts and culture, travel, great gear, good food, and sharing the best of Ottawa. I also love vegetables, photography, gadgets, and great design.
