The benefits of slightly older children

… means that I can sit here and plunk around on the computer while the kids cover the door.

Halloween night is almost over. It’s almost 8 p.m. We’re just getting the stragglers now, and our four jack o’lanterns will soon be extinguished.

Emma and Sarah covered a lot of ground this year. The amount of candy they brought home is positively astounding.

Well I found your blog at random and since I read a couple of entries (I love reading well written blogs) I thought it would only be proper of me to leave a comment. I just wanted to say that you have a really fun writing style that makes us want to just drop by again and read more! And your two daughters are adorable! Every time I read an entry about them it reminds me of myself when I was a little girl. The Halloween entry and pictures were particulary fun. I remember the excitement of going out for candies! I sure hope they’re enjoying it~ feels like we grow up too fast! Anyhow, sorry for the random comment! I just wanted to say that I appreciate your blog!

And ah, it appears that you attended the University I’m currently going to (Carleton U)! Except I’m a Linguistics major. I must apologies for my terrible English though, I’m a native French speaker.

Again, fantastic blog!

Nyami: Hi! And thank you for your kind comment. It made my day.

Marla: makeup is a biiiiig deal. The best (and I wish I had taken a photo) is them peering and squinting in the mirror to get a good view of their sparkly green eyeshadow. It’s difficult to get a clear view of one’s own eyelids!

Funny, because I was also trying to do some blogging (and order my Moo cards!) during prime trick-or-treating time, and could only get about 2 minutes in at a time! The boys couldn’t be trusted, as Simon would have given the whole bowl to every kid who showed up, and Tristan would have been doing the old “one for you, two for me” trick…

Your girls are fabulous. And the reason they are both dreamy is because they come from you. Just being around you makes me feel like a better person. You have such a calm and logical perspective on things, I always end up walking away from a conversation with you feeling pensive but happy.
