special lunch, and dinner, and another lunch to come

Posted by andrea tomkins in: Photography|Recipes and Food

After my post on Friday I biked to pick up the ingredients for my special lunch. I planned to cook it up and eat it within an hour.

My goal: ginger noodle soup. A perennial fave of mine. What’s best, I knew there were going to be leftovers for dinner.

I was partway through cooking it when Mark came in the door.

“Are you making lunch?” he called from the front hall.
“Yes… ”
“Well stop!”

He brought some takout sushi as a surprise (and he didn’t know it was supposed to be my special lunch day)!

Can I get a collective Awwwwww?

So my honey and I had a lovely sushi lunch on the veranda overlooking our yard…

… and we ate the ginger noodle soup for dinner. (Excuse the crappy lighting of this photo. A better shot – with recipe – can be found here.

Today (Saturday) the girls and I biked for groceries (yes, again) and we’re having a picnic in the park.

Three special meals in a row. Am I lucky or what?

I have got to try your ginger noodle soup!

I have yet to have my ‘special’ lunch, but rest assured when it happens, there will be photos.
