Fabulous for Words - Shopping, Sex and Sauvignon
Blanc: The (Almost) Daily Misadventures of a Modern
Mom and Writerly Girl. My alter ego, if I drank six
or seven coffees and then followed it up with a couple
chocolate martinis. This site has made me chuckle on
many occasion.

Or how about a vintage Talking
Ken doll? I can think of a million things he can
say in addition to "Let's go to the big game tonight."
Too many jokes can be made here. I will refrain.

Question for Santa, is $34.00 too much to spend on
body
lotion? I am fairly certain I would pay that much
for something with marshmallow infusion. Dee-lish.
And if you happened to bring me some for Christmas Santa,
I wouldn't say no. Santa delivered!
Hey,
I finally updated my archives,
and added a little freebie search engine. This is for
all those people who desperately needed the URL for
the x-r@ted Carrot Guy, or felt they wanted to relive
the time I verbally assaulted that big guy in the Canadian
Tire parking lot. (What keywords would you use for that
one?)
Mark
rolled over this morning and alerted me to the fact
that it was 7:30... doesn't my fitness class start in
half an hour? I got up. I had a deja vu back to when
Emma was little, back to a time when I was able to wake
up to get ready for work while everyone slept.
Imagine...
a peaceful shower followed by a quiet breakfast, where
the only sounds you hear are the birds outside and the
crunching of the granola in your mouth.
Blissful.
I
just had one of those mornings. Rested and relaxed,
I got dressed, ate breakfast, collected my things and
walked to the rec centre. There were no cars to be seen,
the winter's morning was restful and the wind stayed
at my back. The road was freshly plowed, birds flitted
about and it was all so so so serene and pretty.
<insert
big meditative sigh here>
I
arrived, changed, and handed over my card, at which
the girl behind the counter frowned. Uh?
Sorry,
she said, but we're still on a 'holiday' schedule.
You can't use this until tomorrow.
My
sense of serenity and state of mental relaxation evaporated
in a poof. I trudged back home, this time, the wind
was colder and blowing over the tops of my cute gym
socks and through the seams of my coat.
I
arrived, thinking everyone would be awake by now, but
incredibly enough they are all still asleep. The house
is still quiet.

Even
though I haven't done much, I am feeling burned out
with computer stuff at the moment. I think the huge
Christmas
update put me over the top.
The
crafty bug has taken over for the moment... I have discovered
ATC's and the beauty of modge podge. There is something
really neat about pocket-sized
art.
I
was at Michael's last night picking up some supplies,
and was surprised to find the store packed with people,
one-third of whom were flitting around the paper aisle,
where I was trying not to feel overwhelmed by all the
stuff.
As I stood inline and watched people with their armfuls
of purchases, I wondered who all these craft freaks
are. And then I realized that I am one of them. My best
purchase, a one pounder of handmade paper. :)
