My pre-Christmas gifting to you all ... this lovely image for your desktop. Taken this morning. I like to call it: So this is what happens when they melt.

Install and enjoy. :)

The great thing about working from home is that when you're sick you can slather yourself with Vicks Vapo Rub™ and not worry that you will offend someone's nostrils. You can hack and sneeze and honk into a pile of Kleenex and no one will cringe and think poorly of you.

Yes, that's the best.

Remind me to tell you about the craft fair.

<monday december 1, 2003 - 10:56 a.m.>

Today is is blustery outside, but the sun is shining and that makes it a little more acceptable.

I walked Emma to nursery school this morning. I experienced a newly renewed sense of Winter Coat Hatred. I hate my coat. I've had it for about 10 years. It's thick, green, down-filled. It's great for Canadian winters (in fact, it's so warm I can just wear a t-shirt underneath and still feel snug), but it is worn and generally ugly and horribly unstylish. And the thing that drives this fact home to me is the fact that the zipper-pull is broken.

Pathetic, really.

I need to find something that keeps me warm and is at least a little bit fashionable.

Is there such a thing?

At the very least I am happy with my pink fleece hat (with hangdowny tassel) and my two fashionista scarves... one, a purple wool blend and the other, a hot red and orange furry rock star scarf courtesy of Mary's knitting needles.

But the cold hard truth is that it's hard to accessorize with a coat that's past it's proper lifespan.

Also: boots. I hope I can be proved wrong, but I believe there is no such thing as a pair of real winter books that are funky. I won't sacrifice toe warmth for fashion. I'm old enough to know better.

:)
