<wednesday april 30, 2003 - 8:16 a.m.>

Last night I took Emma shopping. We spent an armload of cash on the following items:

  • Party shoes for Emma
  • New earrings for me. Overwhelmed by the variety of choice, I ended up buying some variously-coloured crystal studs. Bo-ring, yet functional. But I think I feel my earlobe swelling as I type this. This is not a sign of quality earrings.
  • Paper products from the craft store... to make Emma's birthday party invitations. I made one of them in 1.25 hours. It's going to be slow going.
  • Wire/bead products from the craft store... for an idea I have in mind.

And then we went to the dollar store where I purchased 24 items. This is not an exaggeration. I admit, I went a little haywire, but this is the King of All Dollar Stores. How could I not buy things?

I bought lots of little things for party loot bags. I bought a really good bucket for sandcastle making. I bought little canvasses for painting projects, and also some blue duct tape (I plan on trying to make a small purse of it in the near future. A note to Leah, I looked they didn't have pink) ... the list of items goes on and on.

I am a dollar store junkie. Please let me know if there are any 12-step programs for people like me in this area. :)

When I went shopping on Sunday I decided to go to Value Village - used clothing and goods galore. I brought in a good haul. Some jeans, some funky t-shirts... But again, I think I'm developing a problem with my recent bargain-basement shopping trends. I bought a pair of jeans, really really nice ones, practically new. They were $17.99. My first reaction? Man, that's expensive... and it is, considering every other pair there (minus the Tommy H) is under ten bucks.

How will I ever buy new clothes again?

So my photo class is over. The last class was on Monday night. I got an A+ in the class overall. This is immensely satisfying to me. Yes, I am a total keener.

The next class on my agenda begins May 14: Audio-Video Production Techniques. I will be shooting and editing my own little video. There may be a casting call later. I will let you all know. :)
